Prophecy Girl Sponsorship

PROPHECY GIRL SPONSORS BRITISH SCI-FI SERIES!

YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND – 4 FEB 2018: Prophecy Girl is pleased to announce their sponsorship of

“Cops and Monsters” web series.

As the first official sponsor for series two “Cops and Monsters: Uprising”, Prophecy Girl will also be providing the production team with garments for characters to wear on screen in upcoming episodes. Cops and Monsters is an ideal partner for the Prophecy Girl brand whose geeky womenswear designs are inspired by a love of sci-fi and supernatural shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Prophecy Girl founder and designer Kirsty Hannam says:

“I am absolutely thrilled to help Cops and Monsters reach their funding goal and get the second season into production. It’s so exciting to see a supernatural series set and produced here in Britain and we can’t wait to see what the creative team has in store for fans in series two.”

The first series of Cops and Monsters is available to watch now on Amazon Prime, featuring performances from Doctor Who alumni Sophie Aldred, Caitlin Blackwood, and Sarah Louise Madison.

About Prophecy Girl

Prophecy Girl is a British geeky clothing brand for women who want to indulge their love of science fiction, fantasy, and fashion. Launched in 2016, Prophecy Girl is the brainchild of Kirsty Hannam, a graphic designer with a life-long passion for sci-fi and pop culture. Our motto is “wear your geek side with pride!”.

In return for their funding support, we will be featuring their garments in an upcoming episode of series 2!

Be sure to visit their website for more information!

We’ll be contacting more businesses to seek sponsorship to raise at least £30,000 to shoot our new 6 x 20 minute episodes. If you’d like to find out more about how to get involved, please click this link.

Pre-Production Kickstarter Now Live!

From now until the 28th of February we’re running a Kickstarter campaign to raise £1500!

This will cover the cost of our 6 new writers (including James T Harding, Debbie Moon, Philip Lawrence, Simon Underwood, Fraser Coull and Laura Anne Anderson), our brand new opening titles, new music for said titles and promotional artwork.

We’ve got lots of perks available and no money will be taken from your account until the end of the campaign.

Happy New Year 2018!

Happy New Year 2018 to all of our brilliant followers, supporters and friends!

As the world returns to work, we’ll very shortly be sending out the remaining Kickstarter perks, while gearing up for pre-production for Cops and Monsters series 2.

We’ll be commissioning our visual effects artist Shervin Shirazian to update our series titles to reflect the upcoming series and we hope to be bringing you an updated version of the theme tune too! We’re also commissioning graphic artists to create a new concept banner and poster for the new series to help give backers and sponsors a feel for what we’re going to try to achieve!

Cops and Monsters series 2 will consist of 6 x 20 minute episodes, which we hope to shoot at some point this year. To achieve this we are going to launch a mini pre-production Kickstarter campaign for £1,500 in order to hire 6 writers to pen the episodes, to have our new opening and closing titles created and our concept artwork too.

If we are successful with this goal, once our scripts are written we will be seeking sponsorship from businesses around the world to contribute to our estimated budget of £30,000 to shoot our new series (series 1 cost £15,000 but our episodes were shorter and we had less time to shoot them). In return for their sponsorship they’ll be featured on our new Sponsorship page on this website, as well as a banner and a link to their website, a credit on IMDb, and their business name featured on an episode of Cops and Monsters, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime UK and US.

As time goes on we’ll be able to announce our 6 writers – all of which have professional TV writing experience – and the title for our second series. All 8 episodes of series 1 are currently available on Amazon Prime and you can watch it here.

For any more information please visit our SERIES 2 FAQ page here.

Cops and Monsters is able to exist because of our fans – because of the people who watch it, share the episodes, review it, donate to us, sponsor us, pledge money in return for perks and who spread the word. Without you, we’d have no show. So thank you so very much from all of us here on the team.

We hope to see you very soon for our brand new series!

Cops and Monsters – Series 2 – What’s Next?

With Cops and Monsters series 1 now on Amazon Prime we are looking ahead at what happens next.

Series 1 was produced for around £15,000, which we raised via several crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. While these were effective and it allowed us to produce 8 episodes, paying our cast and crew, visual effects, sound design, music, editing, locations, props and costumes, it meant that we had to take a more staggered approach to making the show.

In order to shoot an episode we had to run a campaign for that particular episode, as in the past we had tried to raise the full amount for the series, only to fall short of our target. Crowdfunding, while a very competent way to raise our budget, is also a very time restraining exercise, and as our team are working with us on a part-time/episode-by-episode basis, we sometimes struggle to get the word out there to help us raise the money to hit our goals.

This December we will be interviewing the short listed selected writers, of which around 340 people had sent in their spec scripts for consideration to join the writing staff for series 2. We had a total of 2 readers to go through them all, in their own spare time, and eventually short listed the successful writers.

It is our intention to shoot a brand new series, with 6 x 20 minute episodes, sometime in 2018, and at this stage we would release them all on Amazon Prime, and only once they were all edited and ready to go.

At this stage we plan to run a short crowdfunding campaign at the start of 2018 in order to pay the selected writers to pen our 6 episodes, which we will then (hopefully) use to attract backers, investors and sponsors, in order to raise our projected budget and shoot all 6 episodes in a block later in the year. For series 1 we could only shoot the episodes once we had raised the money for that particular episode, hence taking from 2015 to 2017 to complete the 8 episodes.

Beyond that we have no further details. We will be looking into grants and local funding to see if there’s a way to get support from the local government to help us make series 2, but we suspect we’ll need to do it by ourselves again.

If we have any more news, we will share it on our social media pages and of course, on our official website.

In the meantime you can watch all 8 episodes of series 1 on Amazon Prime UK and US!

Production Photos – 3 Weeks Left On Our Crowdfunding Campaign

We’ve added new photos from last weekend’s shoot from our upcoming episode, “Trapped”, starring Katrina Bryan, Victoria Gibson and Joanna Harte.

The episode has been edited and is currently sitting at 10 minutes and 25 seconds. Now visual effects, sound design and music are to be added and we hope to release it later on in the year.

Three weeks remain for us to raise a total of £3300 in order to produce our 9th and series finale, “Inhuman Nature”. So far we’ve raised £1102, meaning we’ve got £2198 to raise in 21 days. In order to raise this amount we’ve added associate producer perks which will get you a credit on our IMDb page, the full series on DVD and a signed script. This costs £100 each and we have 5 left. There’s also the Executive Producer perk which gives you the same plus a set of signed cast photos for £300. We have 10 of these available.

Of course we’ve got other perks ranging from £1 to £1000 including – set visits, walk on roles, be a monster, mug shot perks, signed photos, scripts, series DVDs, series blu-rays, signed props, posters, t-shirts and much much more. Click this link to head to our Kickstarter to find out more.

Hopefully we will hit our goal in time and in May we can shoot our final episode over 3 days and finish the story!
