Screen Shot 2016-03-03 at 17.21.04

We are pleased to announce that Scottish actress Mhairi Calvey has joined our cast!

As episode 4 is currently in pre-production, due to shoot on March 19th and 26th, we’re looking slightly ahead as we build our Volume 1 arc, consisting of episodes 4-7.

Mhairi will make her debut in episode 5, which will be written by James T Harding. All we can say at this stage is that Mhairi is playing Zoe, a conflicted vampire with a troubling past who finds herself embroiled with Maya Hedges (Ellen Patterson) and the PITS team.

Mhairi is best known for playing Young Murrin in the blockbuster “Braveheart”, “Any Minute Now” and “Gemini”. She also has a full slate of films this year and 2017!

Here’s what Mhairi had to say about joining our series:

I’m delighted to be working with Fraser and his team again. It’s important to me to support other Scottish film makers and having previously worked with Fraser I know he runs a professional set and has a great team behind him. I cant wait to work with them all again.

We hope to bring new updates soon but in the meantime you can watch ALL of our current videos below:

Casting Announcement – Who Is Playing Alexis?

Screen Shot 2016-02-25 at 20.13.56

We are pleased to announce that Scottish-born actress Innes Anderson will be playing the role of Alexis in episode 4 of Cops and Monsters.

The last time we saw Alexis she was only 16 and played by Doctor Who star Caitlin Blackwood. By the time we catch up with her in episode 4 she’ll be older, less in control of the werewolf inside, and struggling to find her humanity…

Innes has been involved with drama, dance and musical theatre groups around Inverness and the Highlands from a very young age.

Between the ages of 11 and 15 Innes was heavily involved with the Youth Music Theatre UK organisation and spent her summers travelling up and down the country from Aberdeen to Plymouth performing and collaborating on many different shows.

When she reached 16 Innes auditioned and gained a place at the Musical Theatre Course at the Dance School of Scotland for two year of intensive MT training. It was at The Dance School where she met some incredibly inspiring tutors and discovered that her true passions lay in acting.

She then gained a full scholarship to The Academy of the Live and Recorded Arts in the North of England, during which she’s performed classical roles in ‘Antony and Cleopatra’, ‘The Comedy of Errors’, ‘Candide’ and ‘As You Like It’. As well many more roles in contemporary pieces such as Louise in Road and Wendla in Spring Awakening as well as working a lot with TV, film and radio.

Since graduating from ALRA in October 2015 with a BA Hons degree in Acting she has returned to Scotland to continue her theatre and film journey on home soil.

Filming of episode 4, “In Crimson”, by Ian Smith and Fraser Coull, takes place on the 19th and 26th of March in Glasgow.

Casting Announcement – Scottish Actor Kenny Boyle Returns!

Kenny Boyle

Scottish-born actor Kenny Boyle will be returning as Martin Carmichael, a hacker with a troubled past, and feelings belonging to new PITs member Maya Hedges.

We can’t give too much away, but things are about to get… complicated for Martin, and you’ll see more of that by the end of episode 4.

Since emerging into the acting world Kenny has appeared in various plays across Scotland, most recently a tour of one man show “Hero Worship” and Theatre’s “Nine Lives of Roddy Hogg”. He’s had the pleasure of appearing in the Tron Theatre as Ariel in “The Tempest “and the Traverse in Isobel Wright’s “Blind Eye” as well as appearing in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe twice.

He recently appeared award winning film “Perfect Strangers” which was warmly received by festivals around the world.

He is keen to see where his character will go and what he shall become as he journeys through the world if Cops and Monsters.

Casting Call – Do You Want To Be In The Show?

We’re casting for episode 4 of our show and offering the role to budding actors everywhere!

Filming will be taking place in Glasgow on the 26th of March 2016. We are offering to pay National Minimum Wage for the role, however we can’t offer travel or accommodation expenses.

If you’re interested please read the role description and if you’re suitable drop us an email with your HEADSHOT, CV and if possible, your SHOWREEL. Click here to send us an e-mail.

We’re looking for an actress to play Alexis, a young, feisty woman who has the ability to transform into a werewolf without the powers of a full moon.

Preferably Scottish with red/auburn hair (but we are open to hair colouring) aged 21 plus with a playing age of 21.

Alexis is a main character and will feature in future episodes, with filming dates for these episodes to be confirmed so we are looking for someone flexible. Any stage combat experience would be advantageous for future episodes.

All of our videos and episodes so far can be watched at http://www.copsandmonsters.co.uk

Auditions will take place in Glasgow in the beginning of February – either the 6th, 7th, 13th or 14th. All short listed actors will be informed of the date ASAP.

Thank you.

Casting Announcement 29th January

Filming a promotional 'Cops and Monsters' video in Glasgow - 24 May 2015

We’ve secured a very talented actress to play the part of Tina Hedges in episode 4. Fans of the sci-fi genre will recognise her but we’re going to announce the casting on the 29th of January when our Episode 4 kickstarter campaign goes live.

So once we’ve cleared the deck, and our guest star gets out of her pyjamas to come to set in March, we’ll release some teasing clues to keep you guessing until then…

“In Crimson”, by Ian Smith, is the 4th episode so far, and kickstarts a 4-part story as PITS newcomers Maya and Martin struggle to work together in their investigation of a streak of werewolf-related murders. Meanwhile Alexis, aka Lycan A202, last seen accidentally murdering her protector, goes on the run as she fights to discover if she is more beast than woman, just as The Cult of Many Faces starts his campaign of terror against the PITS team.

Shooting will take place on the 19th and 26th of March before entering post-production and released on-line as soon as possible.

Casting Announcement – Ellen Patterson Returns

ellen patterson

Ellen Patterson returns to Cops and Monsters to reprise her role of new PITS leader, Maya Hedges.

Here’s what Ellen had to say about her career so far and returning to our show –

Having spent the past five years largely only working in Ireland, England and abroad, I am loving the opportunity to be back on home soil as part of Cops and Monsters. Originally from Edinburgh, I moved elsewhere to study and then became involved in diverse work from clowning to musical film but had not had the chance to explore the world of web series’ until now. It’s been a fantastic ride so far; from being put through my paces in the PITS’ physical test to shooting zombies, there’s never a dull moment. Maya Hedges was only at the beginning of her journey in episode 3 as ‘the new recruit’ and I am really looking forward to the next chapter unfolding as we move forward in time in episode 4. She certainly has determination and a lot she wants to prove so I have no doubt there’s a great deal of excitement in store for her yet!

Filming will take place on the 19th and 26th of March this year and we will be launching our kickstarter to make the episode happen on the 29th of March.

We’ll be releasing more cast information in the coming weeks.

Casting Announcement – Chris Bain

Chris Bain

Things are heating up for episode 4 and we’ve got our first official cast announcement. Chris Bain, who first appeared in episode 4 as Clark, the Minister of Justice, returns to episode 4.

Chris is known for playing a young Jason Mewes in the official Kevin Smith biopic “Shooting Clerks”, which is released this year.  Further to this he has played a wide range of characters from Charles Darwin in the dramatised documentary Evolution, camp and witty “God on Demand” Robert in afterlife drama Blue Skies and of course conniving government agent Clark in Cops and Monsters. Chris will also be appearing in record breaking feature film Breathe Easy as Danny which will begin filming this year.

Here’s what Chris had to say about returning to the show:

“I’m delighted to be playing Clark again in Cops and Monsters. It’s always a pleasure to work with Fraser and the rest of the crew and I can’t wait to see what scheming and plotting Clark has been getting up to in episode 4.”

We’ll be announcing more returning cast along with some new faces between now and when we shoot episode 4 in March!
