Writing Opportunities – Write For Series 2

Award winning web-series Cops and Monsters is looking for writers to be involved with their 2nd series, due to be shot later this year and early next year.

Cops and Monsters follows the Paranormal Investigation Team Scotland as they police and protect the supernatural community in a near-future Scotland. Each episode will follow a different case of the PITS team throughout a 6 episode run, made up of 20 minute episodes.

So far Roland Moore (Doctors, Rastamouse) and Laura Anne Anderson (Ooglies) have contributed scripts to the first series, which can be watched at www.copsandmonsters.co.uk

Cops and Monsters is a completely crowdfunded project, however they will be offering payment to all of their writers. The series is made available via their website and YouTube. They regularly attend comic cons around the UK and have a presence in LA and New York, to promote the show around the world.

This is an ideal opportunity for upcoming writers who have a bit of experience and are looking to get their work produced.

What to Submit:

They are looking for a 20-30 page spec’ script that matches the tone and genre of Cops and Monsters; which is a supernatural drama. Please send a covering letter, detailing why you’d like to write for the show, along with your CV and spec’ script to contact@sillyweefilms.co.uk

OPENING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Monday 29th of May 2017 at 9am

CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Thursday 29th of June 2017 at 5pm

Whilst the series is shot in Scotland you do not have to be based in Scotland to be involved. Interviews and production meetings can be held over Skype. They would however like all of the writers together in Glasgow for a couple of days, TBC, for storylining sessions.

Watch James T Harding and Laura A Anderson, who have wrote scripts for series 1, discuss the process below:
